I live in Claygate, Surrey and have 3 lovely children – nearly all grown up!

I come from a large close-knit family – I am one of 5 children and aunty to 13 and we rally around helping each other out with kids, pets and whatever else is thrown our way…Christmases are lively to say the least! I am an animal lover, competent cook and love to crochet and knit – so you can expect a pair of hand-made booties from me!

I trained as a doula in 2007 and have been an active member of Doula UK since then.  I was Vice Chair of Doula UK 2009-2011 and I now mentor and assess new doulas working their way through the DUK Recognition process.  I maintain ongoing training and development and have acquired many skills as a doula and breastfeeding supporter and have doula’d for over 80 families over the years.  I have assisted with homebirths, waterbirths, VBAC’s, HBAC’s, totally natural undisturbed births as well as births in theatre for assisted deliveries and C/Sections. I have experience with twins both as a birth doula and postnatally.

I have been fortunate to have trained with renowned birth and breastfeeding professionals such as Shiela Kitzinger, Michel Odent, Ina May Gaskin and Dr Jack Newman. I also trained with Gail Tulley (of Spinning Babies) focussing on optimal foetal positioning and using techniques to help with malpositioned babies in pregnancy and labour, including use of the Rebozo.  I have completed the Mother Supporter training with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers and am passionate in supporting new mothers with breastfeeding.  I keep up to date with First Aid and hold an enhanced CRB check. For full details of skills and qualifications please see my profile on Doula UK or visit my website.   I am happy to provide references.
